Sadık Tumay was born in Menemen in 1967. Having completed his primary and secondary education in Foça, he graduated from the Department of Photography of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dokuz Eylül University in İzmir in 1990. Until 1994 he worked as a news cameraman. The same year, he started to work as research assistant in the Department Of Photography of Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts. In 1996, he received his MA degree with a dissertation titled “The Function of Political Photography in the Turkish Press in the 90’s” and completed his graduate studies in 2002 with a dissertation titled “Media Aesthetics and Projecting Of The Future”.
He has published numerous papers and articles. He has also had numerous solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions. Currently he continues to work as a Doctor Instructor in the same department.
